Due to an increasing pressure in the airport business to reduce capital expenditures and to adapt the operational costs to revenues, T-Systems decided to offer the Terminal Operation and Ground Handling Suite additionally as a service from the cloud. This perfectly combines our longtime expertise in the cloud and aviation business. For Airport Operators the service contains the modules AODB / RMS, FIDS, CDM (optional) and Billing, for Ground Handlers all modules from our Ground Handling Suite are available.
The Solution is based on the following components which are installed at the airport side
which are connected to central server clusters in the T-Systems Cloud via an MPLS / DSL connection.
As a fallback we offer a DSL / UMTS connection, which in combination with the main connection, provides high availability of the systems.
This approach enables the Airport Operators and Ground Handlers to gain from substantial benefits:

The international airport Nanjing Lukou is the regional hub of the Jiāngsū province. The airport currently handles more than 12 million passengers and over 100.000 aircraft movements each year. It is facing significant growth with an expected 30 million passengers and 800.000 t of cargo in 2020. An ambitious investment program of 9.898 billion Yuan (€1.2 billion) will provide a second terminal, a new runway as well as other required infrastructure.
